What are the advantages of 3MOS
3MOS – 3 MOS sensors that read the primary colours Red, Green & Blue
Panasonic has developed the “νMAICOVICON.” This is a new MOS sensor technology, that is based on the same structure as the CMOS sensor, yet offers the “high image quality” of the CCD and the “low power consumption” of the CMOS.
This is thanks to 3 core technologies:
1) the “new structural pixel technology” that expands the light reception area and enhances the sensitivity. This new design has allowed the pixels to be moved closer together and means less light is lost.
2) “low-noise process technology” that reduces noise in images
3) The “signal readout circuit technology” that realises lower voltage and lower power consumption.
Panasonic has taken technology that was orginally developed for its Broadcast cameras and put it into its high end consumer camcorders. This technology utilises the “3 is better than 1″ concept. By having 3 sensors and splitting the colours into the 3 primary colours – Red, Green & Blue – y ou can realise absolutely no light loss. This results in superior colour rendition, with rich vibrant colours and helps realise the full potential of Full HD camcorder footage on your large screen VIERA TV.
